MAKING is a 10 minute film which captures Pauline making several of her quilts – Lindisfarne Revisited, Windows on Puglia and Horizons of Puglia.

Moving and Stills images show the one off and repeat processes and techniques that are used to gradually build up complex and expressive artworks.

The film is a direct observation of Pauline at work over an extended period of time, capturing the poetry and craft of her making. There is no spoken dialogue, commentary or sound - the images speak for themselves.

The film has been shot by Steve Chettle and jointly edited with Jean Spouse. They have made a number of other arts films, including two of sculptor Andy Goldsworthy, the performance of Off The Wall by Cloud Nine Theatre Company as part of the International Writing on the Wall project and the performance of Naumachia on the Quayside at Newcastle upon Tyne by the Catalan Theatre Company La Fura dels Baus.

Buying the DVD

MAKING is available to buy from Enceladus Films at £12 (inc. VAT) plus postage and packing.

The DVD will be presented in a clear plastic jewel case, with an image printed on the disc.
