Client: Cumbria County Council
Artist: Andy Goldsworthy
Sheepfolds was a Cumbria-wide sculpture project which used sheepfolds, washfolds and pinfolds as specific locations for the artist to place permanent and ephemeral sculptures.
The project's objective was to have up to 100 works that explored the varied and changing environments and landscapes of both rural and urban Cumbria.
Sheepfolds has been described in the Smithsonian Institute Magazine as "probably the most extensive and least obtrusive public art project in the world."
