A major series of internal and external commissions. Howard Bowcott created linked interior/exterior sculptural work featuring a slate sculpture, time and geology maze, dust drawings with iron ore, coal, limestone and a slate hanging atrium work. Brian Russell made massive gates with plant based imagery. John Neilson completed the programme with a 3m high outdoor carved red sandstone monolith, letter-cut and incorporating images that related to earlier Christian sites at St.Bee’s and Gosforth.
