Wimpey Homes commissioned ARTS UK to deliver four projects for housing estates in the North East. Trinity Mews, The Wicketts, whilst Westoe Crown Village and Dixons Bank.
The sculpture used flower forms to create a feature work sited within the central landscape of the Trinity Mews housing development in Darlington.
The work was developed in consultation with the residents’ management company and was made from local sandstone to fit with the materials of the surrounding buildings.

Artist: Gilbert Ward

Made as part of a % for art scheme, the sculpture uses references to plant forms which are found in Australia to make a subtle link between that continent, and Marton, birthplace of Captain Cook, early explorer of Australia.
